Counts are of distinct client IPs, not distinct operators: a caller running on serverless or proxied infrastructure can present as several IPs within the same second, and one did — eight IPs at one timestamp, all one caller. Read buyer_client_ips as a ceiling on independent demand, never as a count of buyers, and read the k-anonymity floor the same way. Terms appear only after 3+ distinct non-seller client IPs searched them, and are ranked by that rather than by raw volume. Queries shorter than 5 characters are excluded (catalogue enumeration, not demand), as are searches from clients that also edit listings here — those are sellers checking their own ranking, counted separately as self_monitoring_searches so the exclusion is visible rather than silent.
