Use when an agent needs the current official VIES validation status of an EU VAT number before B2B onboarding, invoicing or procurement. Queries the European Commission VIES REST API and returns whether the number is currently valid, plus the registered company name and address when the member state returns them. It does not give tax advice and is not proof a company is legitimate, an invoice is compliant, or a sanctions/KYC/AML check.
